The owner Lea Berghmans was born and raised in Belgium.
In 1999 she visited Palm Springs for the first time and decided this was the place where she wanted to live.
Her husband Frankie (also Belgian) moved to California to work and live in 2003, Lea stayed in Belgium with their two sons, Dennis and Andy.
At the end of October 2005, together they decided that the time was right to join her hubby in California.
Because she wanted to stay active and integrate with the local people, she opened her shop on Christmas evening 2005 and she brings only the best of Belgium in to the valley ‘LEONIDAS chocolates’.
The shop is total ‘European style’ open and contemporary. Thanks to her experience as a florist and her creativity, the shop is a real pleasure to visit. The decoration on the boxes and in the interior says everything.
